Unless otherwise posted on our Facebook page, every Thursday at 7PM at The Rock Bar in Phoenix. Depending on the week we will either be in the showroom (Past the bar through the metal double swinging doors) or out on the patio (To the left of the front door). All are welcome and membership is not required.
If you would like to join us for a meeting, here is some information about what to expect.
Schedule
The first Thursday of each month is our business meeting. This consists of all attendees sitting in a circle with one person speaking at a time. The third Thursday is our discussion night, which is similar to our business meetings with a guided discussion on a topic the group has voted. All other Thursday meetings are socials. Social meetings are informal gatherings where people either sit or stand in small groups and talk (like a cocktail party).
Environment
Most weeks we meet inside in the showroom at The Rock in a controlled environment, Occasionally, The Rock has other events scheduled for the room. If so, we meet on the rear patio left of entering the front door through the outside doorway. During the summer months The Rock is kind enough to provide a large fan to help keep us cool and when it gets cold, they are sometimes able to provide a gas heater. However sometimes our meetings are outside, so please dress accordingly.
Access
The showroom and rear patio are both wheelchair accessible and there is parking available on the North side of the bar, however the lot sometimes fills up, so it may be beneficial to arrive early if you need to park close. There are occasionally some parking spaces open on the west side of the building facing 7th Avenue.
Seating
The Rock provides us several high top tables with tall chairs with back support. There are also regular table-height chairs with backs.
Noise
Sometimes there is music from the bar that can be heard inside the showroom. Sitting toward the front or far side of the room helps to minimize the effect.
Food/Drinks
The bar provides a wide variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. They do sell bags of chips but there is a Filibertos restaurant right next to the north end of the parking lot which is open.
