PboL Business Meeting – November 2022

Attendance:

Old Business:

  1. Pride:
    • PboL participated in the pride parade.
    • Special thanks to Jonathan and Rod for providing stickers.
    • Eric was commended for effectively distributing the stickers.
  2. Fear Farm:
    • Gratitude extended to Kenneth for organization and Rocko for hosting the after-party.
    • Future consideration: Offer two options next year.
  3. Discussion Topic – What it Means to be a Boy:
    • The discussion was well-received.
    • Topics included boy headspace vs. pup headspace and the correlation between gender and being a “boy.”
  4. Halloween Party:
    • Attendance was lower as the Halloween costume party occurred on Friday.
    • Nevertheless, there were fantastic costumes present.

New Business:

  1. Sam and Joe’s After Glow Party:
    • Scheduled for March 16, 2023.
    • “Save the Dates” have been distributed.
  2. Wax A Bear:
    • November 6: Build 8 bears at Scottsdale Fashion Square at 11 am. Each bear has a $50 allowance, and bios will be written on-site.
    • November 12: Online Facebook Event.
    • November 19: In-person event at Anvil.
    • Beneficiary: Lambda.
    • Stipulations include no physical sale of Jell-O shots and ensuring that bears reflect club values, avoiding any transphobic or problematic franchises.
  3. Discussion Night:
    • Scheduled for November 17th at The Grand.
    • Topics will include “Wax A Bear” and thank you cards.
  4. Nasty Santa:
    • Set for December 17th.
    • Requirements: New Santa Chair, volunteers, a beneficiary, and CASH-only policy.
    • Beneficiary Options & Votes:
      • Soranan Prevention Works: 6
      • Ripple Phoenix: 4
      • Trans Spectrum of Arizona: 12
      • The Queer Center: 5
    • Final Beneficiary: Trans Spectrum of Arizona.
  5. Gear Night:
    • Scheduled for November 26, 2022, at Anvil.
  6. Mr. and Ms. Phoenix Leather 2023:
    • Event dates: January 5-8, 2023.
    • Applications are available online.
  7. Boy Run 2023:
    • It will be the Las Vegas Boy Run.
  8. Southwest Daddy Bear and Cub Contest:
    • Anvil: Friday Night.
    • Bunkhouse: Saturday Night (contest).
    • NuToen: Victory Party.
  9. 2023 Board Nominations:
    • Opens in December and is available to members only.
    • Nominations accepted until December 31st.
  10. Kink Karnival:
  • Scheduled for November 12, 2023.
  • Membership is not a prerequisite to attend.

  • Kenneth crafted a bootblack stand for TK.
