1. Shaggy: Or keep the long one and get the short one and have it refer to the long one. Also, wonder if an “org” extension might make sense.
2. Consider SEO and meta tags for exposure and search engine results

3. It would be nice if the header bar stayed frozen at the top of the page while you scrolled. I (Austin) know nothing about website design…
4. SHAGGY: I find websites with fewer options are easier to navigate. The Image Galleries option and the General Discussion option have purposes that seem duplicative of also having FB/instagram pages. Eliminating those (and possibly other) pages would reduce the size of our menus.
5. SHAGGY: I find information on websites with less text to be easier to digest. On some pages, like Education Nights, we include historical information, which seems more relevant in a History of the PboL page, or a Kudos page, rather than on topical pages.
6. SHAGGY: At the risk of setting off an animated discussion, I wonder if we might consider another font for our club name that continues to reflect our boy spirit but in a more grown-up way. I would not anyone to infer from the font that we are aiming to groom or have any interests whatsoever in minors.
7. It’s plausible, however keep in mind that some fonts are compatible on some web browsers while others are not. Also, you should always have 1-2 backup fonts available to use if the browser can’t render the primary one

Home Page

1. Links to the PboL socials (facebook, twitter, Instagram, etc.)
2. SHAGGY: Wonder if we might have a background photo in the “Welcome” section. I’m thinking about a group of us dressed in various leather attire, with the photo taken neck down to show diversity without identity of individual members. That way, the photo would not need to change with changes in membership and the photo would not highlight certain members to the exclusion of others. The photo would need to be generally dark in color to allow overlapping light-colored text to be legible.
3. Upcoming Events should be put into a calendar format and not list format

What is a boy?

1. Right now it’s a wall of text. It would be more approachable if the member descriptions were more compact and could be expanded. For instance, show the first five lines and then have a “read more” button that expands to show the full text. Or have the names be linked to separate pages with the full description.

3. More entries on this page feels long overdue… I would like more current members to contribute, and all future members to contribute (Austin will bring this up to the membership committee)

Events

1. The Events page deletes events that have already occurred – is this by design? If no, then I think a setting needs to be updated. If yes, then the page should be called “Upcoming Events” instead.
2. When you click on an event, the event date is a lot of unnecessary text. Can we update it to only show the date you selected? Or (for example) just say “every third Thursday of each month”?

Image Galleries

1. It’s definitely not being fully utilized; we have a lot more fun events with photos taken than what’s present there. I would suggest including a text box that says something like “This is a Legacy page. Recent photos of PboL events can be found on the PboL Facebook Page” and have the facebook page hyperlinked.
2. SHAGGY: Do we need an image gallery, or might we alternatively point to our FB/Instagram pages?

Education Nights

1. Needs to be Updated (last update: Oct 2020)
2. SHAGGY: Might also be good to include the topic of the upcoming discussion/demo night. Is I were wondering the subject of the next discussion night and were unfamiliar with our website, I might go to the education page rather than the event page to see the upcoming topic.

Discussions

General Discussions

1. Do we still need this page? It gets used maybe once a year, and the actual general discussion is either on Facebook or Telegram. I’d suggest keeping it as a legacy page (with an appropriate text box denoting it as such), but directing other general discussion to Facebook or Telegram.
2. SHAGGY: Do we need to keep it as a legacy page? Perhaps some information loses its relevance and importance at a particular time and can simply be archived, hidden from public view, but accessible to site administrators as needed.

Members

1. SHAGGY: Would be great if each member’s induction date were included in the scalar.
2. SHAGGY: Wonder if we need both the display name and first name in the public version of the scalar. How about just display name?
3. SHAGGY: The About Me column is difficult to read on both the phone and PC. Maybe a limit and link on text in the scalar with more info available by clicking the link…? Column needs to adjust relative to size of display.

1. Wonder if we should schedule a semiannual Update Your Profile reminder. I just saw mine and laughed at how out of date it seems.
2. But sure how site relates mentees to mentors, but my account page is showing Sbudz as my mentee.
